Meet Sri Desiraju
Sri Desiraju is a man of few words (in his written responses below, at least!), but we’ll tell you this — his patients LOVE him. Effusively. RVNA gets regular letters and phone calls from Sri’s fans singing his praises.
Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I am from Hyserabad, India and now live in Bethel, CT.
How long have you been at RVNA?
I joined RVNA as a travel physical therapist (working with patients in their homes) in Dec 2011 and began working full-time in Jan 2013.
What brought you here?
We moved here when my wife got a job at ASML in Wilton, CT. We moved from Corning, NY.
Describe your role at RVNA
I am a physical therapist.
When did you decide you wanted to be a PT?
When I was 18 years old I saw an immense opportunity to help others in the medical profession and chose to be a physical therapist.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Working with my patients, interacting with them, and helping them achieve their goals gives me immense happiness.
What do you love to do when you’re not working?
Taking care of my boys, ages 10 and 6. My patients and my family make my life whole.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
It depends on the amount! First, I would clear my debts and take care of my family loans. If I win a huge lottery, I would donate to important causes and for the good of humanity.
Do you have a favorite RVNA moment or story?
Every moment that my patients feel happy or when I help them achieve their functional goals.
