Question: If A Likes B, and B Likes C, and C Likes D, Does D Like A?
Well, if you’re Richard Emerson, Ward Mazzucco, and RVNA, the answer is a resounding yes, as these RVNA sponsors and friends have truly come full circle since the original introduction nearly 10 years ago. And what a well-rounded friendship and sponsorship it is.
It all started in 2010, when Redding resident and then Probate Judge Richard Emerson (aka C), was introduced to RVNA (aka A) by his friend Frank DeSalvo (aka B), an RVNA board member at the time.
The introduction was made at the annual RVNA Spring Breakfast and Emerson was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and attendance at the event – especially notable because it was only 7:30 in the morning. Thus inspired, Emerson followed DeSalvo’s lead and got involved with RVNA, joining the Board in 2013 and supporting the building of RVNA’s Center for Exceptional Care in 2016.
He didn’t stop there. Emerson, the current vice chair of the RVNA Board, served on several committees; has been a stalwart volunteer at the annual RVNA Health & Wellness Fair; and in 2016, Richard Emerson paid RVNA the ultimate honor: he passed the friendship forward, introducing RVNA to his close friend Ward Mazzucco (aka D) of Chipman Mazzucco, Attorneys at Law.
But Ward Mazzucco already knew about RVNA. Years prior, he had brought his son to the RVNA Travel Clinic to be vaccinated for an upcoming trip. Apparently, the shots worked. And when Richard Emerson later forged the connection, Mazzucco became a fast friend and loyal RVNA supporter.
Mazzucco recognized in RVNA an inspiring mission, and a sensibility that was compatible with his own and that of his firm — a commitment to the client for the long term; an eye toward progress and innovation; and unwavering quality.
Likewise, RVNA president and CEO, Theresa Santoro, sees the parallels. “Chipman Mazzucco’s phrase, ‘Your Partner for the Road Ahead,’ surely holds true here at RVNA as well,” says Santoro. “And with the growing demands for RVNA’s health care services, we are grateful for the time, talent, insights, and guidance they’ve provided us both in the past and into the future.”
Ward Mazzucco joined the RVNA Board in 2016 and, since then, Chipman Mazzucco has supported RVNA in every possible way: through event sponsorships; through volunteerism; by offering legal expertise and advice; and even by hosting free community education panels at RVNA for the public. Last fall, Alyson Marcucio of Chipman Mazzucco, who serves on the RVNA Development Committee, co-hosted “Get Your Ducks in a Row,” a panel discussion of professionals offering advice in several disciplines for planning for the future. Marcucio’s own mom was a nurse and her familiarity and fondness for RVNA’s mission brings a depth and authenticity to her work with RVNA.
Last October, the circle came together. Richard Emerson and several of his partners joined the Chipman Mazzucco firm and RVNA’s long-time friends and sponsors are now one: Chipman Mazzucco Emerson, Attorneys at Law. Together, as an RVNA Governor’s Society sponsor, they will continue to support RVNA events and programs and will continue to offer invaluable time, counsel, and expertise.
“We value the many communities we serve and recognize the critical importance of good health during all stages of life,” says Richard Emerson. “Our firm stands behind the mission of RVNA in providing home health, home care, and rehabilitation services of the highest standard. We are honored to be the focus of a Sponsor Spotlight and hope that everyone will join us in working to further the fine efforts of RVNA.”
