Although Courtney Mead has only been with RVNA clinical care coordination just short of a year, it’s difficult to recall a time when she was not a part of the team. With a personal focus on helping others, this role was the perfect fit for Courtney right from the start. She listens to patients’ concerns, gathers important clinical information, and discusses the services they may need.
When Courtney is not at work, this active go-getter makes it a point of staying active and surrounding herself with family and friends…with a healthy amount of downtime. Add in a daily dose of laughter with colleagues…and it all adds up to a healthy lifestyle.
Take a moment to meet…Courtney Mead.
Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I grew up in Danbury and still live there now.
What is your role at RVNA?
I am in the care coordination department (aka ‘Intake’).
How long have you been at RVNA?
I have been with RVNA for 11 months.
When brought you here?
In the past, I nannied for a nurse that worked at RVNA. Also, my sister Melissa works here, so I have always known about RVNA. It wasn’t until Melissa said to me one day, “Apply already!,” so I finally did.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love helping people. So being able to help patients get care and feel better is definitely my favorite part of my job.
What do you love to do when you’re not working?
I like being active. The gym, sports, and quality alone time are key.
What is your hidden talent?
I don’t use this talent enough. I draw and paint really well.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
The first thing I would do is buy my parents and my sisters a house on a beautiful island. Second, I would take a month-long trip to St. John.
Do you have a favorite RVNA moment or story?
My favorite moments would have to be laughing with my coworkers (which happens daily!). We love what we do and like each other, and it’s a great day when you can laugh through it.
What’s your favorite book? Movie? .. of all time?
Titanic is my favorite movie. A Boy Called It is my favorite book.
If you had a band, what would it be called?
If you had a racehorse, what would you name it?
If you could only eat one food for a year, what would it be?
